Operation Inasmuch, Inc.
proudly announces
the birth of

Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch

Born:  July 12, 2009
in Fayetteville, NC

No cigars.  No pink or blue balloons.  No stork posted in the yard.  Just a simple announcement about a newborn ministry—Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch.
Operation Inasmuch began in Fayetteville at Snyder Memorial Baptist Church in 1995.  Sue Byrd, an active member of Snyder and deeply involved in every Inasmuch event in Fayetteville since its inception, launched Fayetteville Area Operation Inasmuch in 2007 as an outgrowth of the larger Inasmuch ministry.  On July 12 FAOIAM dedicated a new building where daily ministry to homeless persons in Fayetteville will be rendered.  The building was donated to FAOIAM by St. Luke’s and was renovated over a period of a year by hundreds of volunteers.  Breakfast will be served by volunteers from area churches Monday – Friday.  Classes will be conducted for the purpose of helping homeless and otherwise needy Fayetteville residents develop computer or carpentry or other skills to enhance their ability to get gainful employment and permanent housing.
Sue Byrd the Executive Director of FAOIAM said at the building dedication:  “No one would have believed that this building in the shape it was when we received it could ever have become what you see today.  It has taken a lot of prayers and a lot of work and a lot of money to transform this building into a useable space for ministry.  Now the real work begins as we begin soon to serve people in need in the name of Jesus.”
Mrs. Byrd served as a member of the Board of Directors of Operation Inasmuch, Inc. from 2006 through 2008.  David Crocker says:  “Sue has in many ways personified the spirit of Inasmuch not only by her consistent ministry to people in need but also through her inspiration of others to do the same.”  He wrote the story of her transition from occasional compassion ministry to lifestyle ministry in his book The Samaritan Way: Lifestyle Compassion Ministry (available at www.operationinasmuch.com).
