North Carolina Stages Largest Ever Ministry Event

April 19 promises to be a day to remember in North Carolina.  On that day more than 700 churches of various denominations will conduct an Operation Inasmuch in their community all across the state.  “This is the largest event of its kind ever to take place,” says David Crocker, Executive Director of Operation Inasmuch, Inc.  “When we began talking about this project, we hoped for as many as 500 churches.  Our vision was way too small.  Response from all over the state has been awesome!”
“There will be about 50,000 believers spread across almost every community in the state demonstrating the grace of God in memorable, tangible ways through the hands-on ministry of Operation Inasmuch,” adds Crocker.  “Most of the churches involved have never done an Inasmuch, but this experience will propel them toward more community ministry events in the future.  If the same pattern we’ve seen elsewhere following an Inasmuch happens in NC, hundreds of churches and communities will be changed forever as a result of what takes place in April!”
Richard Brunson, Director of Baptist Men for the Baptist State Convention says, “You think about this many people doing the same thing on the same day generates a lot of excitement.  What excites me is that this is the first ‘mission trip’ ever for a lot of the people involved.  We see a lot of energy coming out of this.  The benefit for the cause of Christ is enormous.  A lot of people across our state will experience the joy of serving others have experiences and, hopefully, look for other opportunities to serve people in need.”

This event is a joint project by Operation Inasmuch, Inc. and Baptist Men of the Baptist State Convention of NC and is the result of 18 months of planning.  While most of the churches involved are Baptist, other denominations are represented as well—Methodist, Presbyterian, Moravian, Episcopal, Lutheran, etc.  A special website provides access to the particulars of the project:  www.ncoperationinasmuch.org.  A blog on that site offers interesting insights into the thoughts and plans of various communities.
